StrifeJet Update
Strife Jets have new code. This code alters strife performance based on mech weight. Currently we have the center-point set at 50tons. Any mech over the mass is going to perform more sluggish in air with strife jets. Any mech under that weight is going to perform more agile. Vixen is getting some armor stapled to it (claws will have to be sharpened later) to make up for its hindered flight speed. Stryker is now pure greased lightning.
This change only came after a lot of thought, and mechs will have to be retooled possibly (especially that Vixen). This change however gives lighter mechs a speed advantage now compared to heavier strife mechs. I tried to gear this update so a fair amount of mechs were buffed while some where not overly nerfed.
In my tests a Vixen and Betrayer, the most heavily impacted, can cross a sim in about 5 seconds end to end on 2/3rd a tank of fuel if you are smart about your strife use. A Stryker can pretty much stay in the air indefinitely without a glide wing if you’re smart about your strife fuel use.
This update gives us a lot of database control over strife jets, we will be able to adjust and adapt the strife-jet mech performances to an unparalleled level now.
